Spirit Airlines to Add Nonstop Frequencies Between Kansas City International Airport and Orlando

Spirit Airlines announced that the carrier will add nonstop flights between Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). Starting July 9, Spirit will supplement the current one daily flight with a second flight on Thursdays and Sundays, bringing the service to nine flights per week.

“We’re pleased to see Spirit Airlines expand their ultra-low fare service here,” said Pat Klein director of Kansas City’s Aviation Department. “Orlando is one of the most popular destinations from Kansas City and these new flights will likely cause that demand to increase by giving Kansas City travelers additional options.”

Spirit Airlines launched service from Kansas City International Airport in August 2014 with nonstop service to several U.S. cities and continues to be a strong partner.

“Florida is very important to Spirit Airlines, and we are going to keep growing in the state we call home,” said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning for Spirit. “As the only major airline headquartered in the Sunshine State, Spirit Airlines continues to add new destinations and more non-stop service to meet the needs of Florida’s growing economy.”
