KCI Airport Traffic Up for January

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Aviation Department reports that total January passenger traffic at Kansas City International Airport was up 0.9 percent over 2013 figures, with 680,606 passengers arriving and departing through its gates during the month. During January passenger boardings at KCI were up 1.2 percent, with a total of 340,850.

Air cargo tonnages, which consist of both freight and mail transported by air, for all carriers at KCI were down 3.3 percent in January with a total of 16.7 million pounds handled. Air freight handled at KCI during January amounted to 16.1 million pounds, which represents a year-over-year decrease of 4.1 percent. Air mail for January was up 32 percent from January 2013 with 509,171 pounds handled. The all-cargo carriers reported 5 daily departures for January.
