KCI Airport Passenger Traffic Up for July

The City of Kansas City, Mo., Aviation Department reports that Kansas City International Airport recorded 927,719 passengers arriving and departing through its gates in July, which represents an increase of 2.1 percent from July 2012. Passenger boardings at KCI were up 1.3 percent, with a total of 464,057 during July. For the year to date, boardings at KCI totaled 2,810,671, a decrease of 4.0 percent from the same period last year.

The number of peak-day scheduled aircraft departures for July was 187. Service was offered to 45 nonstop markets. There was an average of 39,445 arriving and departing seats available in the market each day, up 5.9 percent from last year.

Air cargo tonnages, which consist of both freight and mail transported by air, for all carriers at KCI were up 3.9 percent in July. For the year to date, air cargo at KCI is up 4.2 percent from the same period last year. Air freight handled at KCI during July amounted to 15.1 million pounds, which represents a year-over-year increase of 2.9 percent. Air mail for July was up 52.6 percent from July 2012. The all-cargo carriers reported 4 daily departures for July.
